1. Mowing and trimming a. The contractor shall mow and trim grass to a height of three inches, maintaining a mowed area of five feet around the edges of all interior roadways, parking lots, boat ramps, and cantilever signs, unless otherwise directed by the Department. b. Mowing shall not be permitted when the ground is so wet that mowing operations would cause rutting or otherwise damage existing turf. c. The contractor shall use extreme care to avoid scraping, cutting, or otherwise damaging permanent objects, including but not limited to signs, trees, and shrubbery, during mowing and trimming operations. 2. Privy cleaning a. The contractor shall clean and disinfect toilet risers, seats, and lids in all privies. b. The contractor shall refill toilet paper in all privies. Toilet paper must be a minimum of two-ply and contain a minimum of 1,000 sheets per roll. 3. Trash removal a. Prior to mowing, the contractor shall pick up and legally dispose of all small trash, large appliances, including but not limited to refrigerators, stoves, water heaters, etc., and tires that have been dumped on the area. b. The contractor shall immediately notify the Department if hazardous materials or other items prohibited by law from being disposed of in landfills are found on the area. The Department shall be responsible for the removal of such items.
