Specifications / Scope of Work The Contractor shall, throughout the year, transport pulpwood and raw logs from the University’s local forest locations to mills, rail sidings and concentration yards. The University will determine which mill loads are to be transported to and provide load tickets based on contracts between the University and mills throughout the State of Maine. Annual Estimated Volumes are: • 150 M.B.F. of fitted Saw Logs • 400 Cord of equivalents of round pulpwood All pulpwood and raw logs are cut tree length and hauled by the University’s cable skidder to a loading area. The contract is for a Contractor with self-loading center mount or straight frame triaxil truck(s). The majority of the University’s road network has been in place for over fifty (50) years. The road widths are narrow in places, curves are sharp and some intersections with public roads are at 90 degrees, these conditions may require extra maneuvering for center mount trailer trucks.
