The City is soliciting proposals for Master Plans Examiner services. The selected Master Plans Examiner will be responsible for reviewing construction documents for compliance with the Ohio Building Code (OBC) and the Residential Code of Ohio (RCO). This includes evaluating structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems to ensure safety, accessibility, energy code compliance, and general code adherence. The Master Plans Examiner also serves in an advisory role to the City’s Chief Building Official as needed to address building code compliance issues/concerns via email, video calls, and on rare occasions, in-person meetings as necessary. The examiner will provide written documentation outlining deficiencies and submit those through the City's online permitting platform. The City will provide a login to this platform at no cost to the examiner, and all review comments must be submitted through this system. Training will be provided, and commonly used comments can be pre-programmed into the system for selection from a drop-down list if requested. Hard copies of plans will not be distributed; all plans will be routed electronically through the permitting platform.
