1. The Contractor(s) shall provide trained substitute teachers for City Schools’ special education teachers designated by the central office staff. 2. Substitute teachers must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an institution of higher learning, or is determined to have equivalent years of experience in providing special education instruction or support. 3. The Contractor(s) shall recruit and train the individuals that will serve as special education substitute teachers, regardless of short-term or long-term capacity. All substitute teachers assigned to City Schools shall have successfully completed a 40-hour training program provided by the Contractor. a. Special education law, disabilities, and classroom implications; b. Lesson plan development to include implementation of supplementary aides and services, program accommodations and modifications. c. Classroom management skills; d. IEP’s and record keeping requirements; e. Conflict resolution; f. De-escalation training
