1. SCOPE OF WORK: Services requested under the scope of this contract are Commercial in nature and shall consist of work from the Main Electrical Distribution Panel (MDP) forward to the final application or use, commonly referred to as the “load side.” The Contractor shall provide electrical repair and maintenance to facilities as, but not limited to, administrative office buildings, vehicle maintenance shops, equipment storage buildings, chemical (salt/sand) storage buildings, vehicle refueling sites and site security lighting. Some buildings were constructed as early as the 1930s however the majority of the facilities were constructed since the mid-1980s. Electrical services provided to VDOT buildings consist of 208/120 and 277/480 voltage, single and 3-phase. Services may include, but are not limited to: a. Troubleshooting, fault detection and identification, wire tracing, and circuit determination. b. Repair, replacement and/or installation of indoor and outdoor lights to include bulbs, ballasts, whole light fixtures, poles, lighting controls to include photo eyes…etc. c. Size and establish circuits to bring power to equipment such as HVAC units, cranes, conveyors, brinemaking equipment, overhead garage doors, ventilation systems, heavy vehicle lifts, water heaters, ice machines…etc. d. Estimating electrical load, designing and installing new circuits to include breakers, installing conduit, pulling wire (through wall, attic, or chases), and locating/placing outlets and fixtures for commercial and industrial use e. Installing, upgrading, relocating, rewiring or diagramming electrical panels f. Whole room, building or lot electrical renovation to include rewiring, upgrades, re-lamping and/or replacement-in-kind. g. Installing, troubleshooting, and repairs of new technologies for energy conservation such as motion/sound detecting light controls, LED lights, power usage meters…etc. h. Utility detection, in-ground trenching, exterior conduit installation, etc. to identify, repair, replace, or install exterior lot electrical services, outlets, or fixtures i. Preparing schematics, drawings, or riser diagrams of work planned and/or completed.
