• DSA Coordination & Documentation: o Provide geotechnical oversight in accordance with DSA IR A-4 (Inspection & Testing of Soil Compaction for School Projects). o Submit all required geotechnical observation and test reports to the DSA field engineer for review. o Respond to DSA geotechnical comments and requests for additional information. • DSA-Certified Special Inspection (as required): o Ensure that all field inspections and testing are performed by DSA-approved inspectors per DSA IR 17-10 (Special Inspections). o Provide geotechnical special inspections for deep foundations, compaction testing, retaining walls, and ground improvements as required. o Verify compliance with DSA Testing & Inspection (T&I) program requirements, ensuring all tests and reports are submitted properly. • DSA Geotechnical Verification & Testing: o Verify soil compaction and moisture control compliance with DSA’s 90% to 95% relative compaction requirement per ASTM D1557. o Conduct required field density tests for engineered fill and soil compaction per DSA T&I approvals. o Confirm that grading and foundation preparation comply with approved geotechnical recommendations and DSA-reviewed plans. • Foundation & Subgrade Inspections – DSA Sign-Off: o Prior to placement of foundations or slabs, the GER must conduct inspections and provide written certification of subgrade suitability. o Provide required documentation for DSA field review before structural concrete placement. • DSA Change Management & Non-Conformance Resolution: o If geotechnical conditions differ from the approved design, provide revised recommendations to be reviewed by the design team and submitted to DSA for approval. o Work with the Project Inspector (PI), Structural Engineer, and DSA Field Engineer to resolve any geotechnical non-compliance issues. • Final Geotechnical Compliance Report – DSA Closeout: o Prepare a final geotechnical report summarizing all field inspections, test results, and compliance with DSA requirements. o Submit a Geotechnical Engineer’s Statement of Compliance for DSA project closeout (Form DSA-168).
