The scope of work includes the replacement of all rain stacks and floor drains, including all associated clamps, supports, guards, fittings and piping from the top level down in Parking Garage A and Parking Garage B, as necessary. Contractor will demolish, remove and dispose of the existing rain stacks; from the seventh level of Parking Garage A and the sixth level of Parking Garage B to the ground level, and reinstall new Schedule 40 PVC piping in the same location, matching the existing size. Work to include the following: removal and replacement of 4” and 6” vertical and horizontal stormwater drain piping. Removal and replacement of all 4” floor and 6” floor drains from the second level to the top level in both Garage A and Garage B. Demolition and replacement of concrete surrounding floor drains, as necessary, which is incidental to replacement of floor drains and all associated piping. Removal and replacement of all cast iron risers, joints and fittings extending from rain stacks to floor drains, and replacement with schedule 40 PVC piping. Removal and replacement of pipe guards, pipe supports, pipe clamps and pipe hangers as required to complete work. Reconnection of newly installed Schedule 40 PVC piping to existing underground cast iron piping. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and secure work site. RIAC staff will work with the contractor to ensure minimal disruption to customers and pedestrians utilizing the garages. Communication between the contractor and RIAC staff will be key to avoiding any operational conflicts. Work will be phased to ensure temporary closures of areas within each garage have minimal impact on garage operations, and the contractor must coordinate with RIAC to ensure there is adequate notice to give to customers. Work will be conducted during normal business hours. All existing pipe sizes, materials and equipment are to be verified in the field by the contractor. For the rain stacks, various repairs have been completed previously. Contractor to remove and dispose of all piping, including previously repaired sections. For the floor drains, surrounding concrete to be removed and replaced as required to complete work, and payment shall be incidental to the floor drain replacement. New concrete will be mixed to meet the RIDOT standard specifications Part 600 for concrete. The concrete must have a minimum compressive strength of 4,000 psi at 28 days. All newly installed piping to be reconnected to existing underground piping on ground level with no-hub couplings.
