This contract is for the performance of all aspects of work necessary for the construction of a 2- inch asphalt concrete overlay with the concurrent construction of pre-level work. This work is being undertaken to improve ride quality and mitigate surface defects. This project includes the construction of four asphalt concrete driveway aprons where those driveways connect with the overlay. This work is located on Bond Road, including the intersection with Mt. Hope. The overlay will be approximately 1,575 feet long (including taper joints), beginning at a point south of the intersection with Mount Hope Drive, and extending to a point near the driveway access to house number 33698. Within the project site the Contractor shall place two pre-level courses, one over the other, of asphalt concrete on both the north- and southbound travel lanes. This work is intended to mitigate the felt ride due to a series of dips and bumps. The affected sections include approximately 990 feet in the southbound lane, and 1,070 feet in the northbound lane. The pre-level lengths may be adjusted at time of construction based on Contractor’s and County’s representatives’ evaluation of site conditions. Pre-level sections are north of the intersection with Mount Hope Drive.
