The proposal shall include the respondent’s method of how they propose to provide the services on acreage owned by the County. The proposal shall address the applicable conditions listed below: • The public has access to the park lands and will be allowed to use the fields. Contractor will notify and get approval from the County to temporarily limit public access to the fields during certain farming practices. • Applicants must be prepared to release certain areas at the County’s request to accommodate park development and management needs. Payment to the County will be adjusted based on the change in acreage available for harvest. • Only grass-type crops are allowed. • The Contractor will incorporate best management practices in the cutting and removal of the crop. • Use of commercial fertilizer (no herbicides or manure) is permitted if applied per an approved Field Nutrient Management Plan, and with prior approval of Whatcom County Parks & Recreation. Contractor will be responsible for obtaining the plan. • Farmer will ensure legal access to the property. • Contractor will comply with all local, county, and state critical areas ordinances.
