Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. The Department started importing data into PointClickCare® in 2015 for our minimum data set (MDS) submissions to CMS. MDS is a comprehensive assessment that is required in Medicare qualified nursing homes for its residents during admission and then at least once every quarter. In order to comply with CMS regulations, the Department must submit MDS's on a routine basis. If the Department does not submit asrequired, there are civil monetary fines that Syringa Chalet, a licensed and Medicare-qualified nursing home located on the SHS campus, will be cited for. Switching to a new system would entail SHS manually transferring over seven (7) years of data. The cost of transferring files, implementation, training, and monetary fines during the transition would lead to significant financial consequences and may also put the Department out of compliance with CMS which could lead to denial of admission or facility penalties and closure. Therefore, the Department requests an exemption from competition for annual support, maintenance and periodic upgrades for PointClickCare® software.
