1. Mowing • Mowing includes all listed county rights of way, shoulders, front and back of slopes, ditch bottoms, bridge slopes. • Edging around signposts, fences, guardrails, bridges end walls, pipes, drainage structures, mailboxes etc. • Approximately 306.4 centerline miles of paved road (612.8 miles of service; i.e., mowing on both sides of the road) and 2.55 acres. See Exhibit A. 2. Mowing Cycles, Operations and Safety • Mowing shall be done in three (3) mowing cycles, with an option for a fourth mowing cycle per calendar year. • The commencement date for each cycle shall be determined by the Road Superintendent. • Mowing shall be completed between April and November (subject to adjustment according to conditions as directed by the County). • Each cycle should be completed in entirety before beginning new cycle. • Contractor is responsible for pickup, removal, and disposal of any obstacle such as wood, tires, cans etc., in rights of way that mowers are unable to traverse. All items that can be torn or shredded due to mowing should be removed as well. • Contractor is responsible for all safety signage, markings, and advanced warning during operations. • Contractor must respond to complaints or damage within 24 hours of notification by the Road Superintendent • Contractor is responsible for all damage caused by operations. Note that in the past rocks have damaged vehicles. • Contractor must notify Road Superintendent of any damage or accidents during mowing. • Baldwin county will not be responsible for any engineering or incidental items pertaining to the work in this contract.
