The Contractor shall provide equipment with experienced operators, labor, fuel, transportation (mobilization), tools, supplies, supervision and incidentals as necessary for performing incidental construction, ordinary maintenance, maintenance replacement projects and miscellaneous repair to maintain safe and efficient operations on various Primary and Secondary Routes within the counties of Mecklenburg, Lunenburg and Brunswick. VDOT reserves the right to perform any type of work within the limits of this operation. The Contractor shall work with VDOT and other Contractors as necessary. The Contractor shall furnish all materials required for the work. Work may be performed at any time of the year, weather permitting, at the discretion of VDOT. There may be a lapse between project assignments. The daily hours of use may vary on each piece of equipment. All waste material generated in connection with this contract is the property of the Contractor and disposal is the responsibility of the contractor. Disposal shall be per all applicable laws and disposal regulations. Types of work that may be required in this contract are, but not limited to; Asphalt Concrete Pavement, Pothole and Crack patching/sealing/repair/replacement, manual and mechanical, Roadway Base Repair, Hydraulic Cement Concrete pavement, Crack and Joint cleaning/repair/replacement/sealing, Hydraulic Cement Concrete Slope protection, crack and joint cleaning/repair/replacement/sealing, repairing non-paved shoulders, front slopes and roadside ditches, slope and ditch repair/restoration, clean, repair, replace drainage structures, repair storm drains, side drains, cross drains, concrete repair and road sweeping.
