This system is designed to be mounted to Attenuator trucks or near work zones to alert workers and distracted drivers of impending collisions or work zone intrusions. Alerts will be provided about the use of onboard LED lights and sirens. Minimum requirements: System should be able to provide real-time detection of approaching vehicles and generate safety events when a driver is about to collide with the object the device is mounted to or a driver is about to enter a work zone All processing required to trigger sirens and LED lights needs to take place on board (using an edge processor) without internet or network connectivity The system should continuously record 1920x1080 video that can be accessed at a later time with at least 200 GB of storage for video retention. Video should lose < 1s of video in the case of power outage during a collision The system should use 60Ghz radar for accurate speed detection and lane separation of incoming vehicles Video system should perform inference to determine if incoming target is a pedestrian, passenger truck, semi-truck, or car The system should include an option for cellular connection The system should support alerts using relay closure for up to 4 devices with a max of 10A power draw for each closure The entire system (radar, camera, edge processor & modem) needs to support 12V battery installation with < 25W of average power consumption Processing should be done at least 10 times per second All components should be designed to withstand vibration and constant sun exposure. Operating temperature range of -40C to 65C
