The work to be performed by the CONSULTANT consists of preparing Plans, Specifications and Estimate for improvements to District Line Bridge. The proposed improvements include the evaluation and inspection of the existing wearing course and decking of the bridge, the design of a new wearing surface, retrofit of a guardrail system, upgrades of bridge approach slabs, and load ratings for proposed upgrades upon final construction of the improvements. The major features of the project are as follows: • Evaluation and inspection of the existing wearing course and bridge deck, • Recommendations for any required improvements to the bridge deck, • Design of a new guardrail system to be retrofitted to existing bridge and approaches, • Environmental documentation and preparation of permit applications, • Design of approach slabs, • Load ratings to meet state and FHWA standards, • Review of any required shop drawings and construction assistance.
