Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project consists of the replacement of an existing bridge with a new single span bridge. The overall purpose of the project is to replace the existing structurally deficient bridge and improve the conveyance of Dog Lake Ditch under the bridge. The new superstructure shall consist of a reinforced concrete slab deck. The superstructure shall be supported on reinforced concrete abutments on steel pipe piles. A reinforced concrete bridge approach will be used behind both abutments. New approach roadway will consist of 4.5 inches of HMA on Subgrade Treatment Type II or Subgrade Treatment Type IC on 18” of Compacted Aggregate No. 2. Additionally, earthwork is planned to include fill up to approximately 1 ft. for the roadway section. Drainage improvements include new ditches, a 12-inch pipe is planned to be installed beneath an existing field entrance on the east side of the bridge and north side of the roadway, and an 18-inch pipe is planned to be installed beneath an existing drive on the west side of the bridge and south side of the roadway. An existing 2” sanitary force main on the north side of the road will be relocated to avoid conflicts with the proposed bridge.
