Specifications include, but are not limited to:The project involves the removal and reconstruction of antique paver brick roadway along one city block. In addition, all underlying and adjoining water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer shall be removed and replaced. Supporting work elements shall include but not be limited to pavement removal, excavation, paver removal and salvage work, sanitary and storm sewer structure removal, utility installation work, concrete road base construction, curb and gutter, sidewalk, placement of antique paver bricks, and all other restoration work necessary to satisfy the project documents. An optional pre-bid meeting will be held at the Valparaiso Council Chambers, 166 Lincolnway, on June 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., local prevailing time. Prior to the meeting all Contractors should conduct an on-site inspection of the project site. The Project Documents are available for FREE and may be obtained from Adam McAlpine with the City of Valparaiso Engineering Department at (219)462-1161 or amcalpine@valpo.us. No project documents will be sent out seven (7) days prior to the date of the bid opening. Proposals shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form, and must be accompanied by an executed Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, confirmation that copies of Addenda were received, and satisfactory bid security. A certified or cashier's check payable to City of Valparaiso or a bid bond in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the bid amount must accompany each bid. All checks of unsuccessful bidders shall be returned to them by the City upon selection of successful bidder.
