This year has had its ups and downs, but despite all this, we are going strong and will continue to support both suppliers and buyers in their growth. Bidnet Direct saw an increase in both numbers of member agencies joining our platform to publish bids, plus more bid opportunities published nationwide. Before this year ends, we are excited to share with you the growth in our buyer-supplier community.
Growing Exclusive Member Agencies
Since January 2022, we have welcomed over 170 new government buying organizations – including towns, cities, counties, and special districts. Overall, we have over 1,300 member agencies who publish solicitations directly on Bidnet Direct, a 15% increase from last year.
We are also excited to welcome our first participating agencies in Pennsylvania and Nebraska this year. We now have participating agencies in 36 states who post solicitations on Bidnet Direct. Some of our new participating agencies include:
- City of Avondale, Arizona
- Hall County, Georgia
- Borough of Jamesburg, New Jersey
- Kings River Conservation District, California
- New York Racing Association, New York
- Oakland University, Michigan
This is an exciting time for Bidnet Direct and registered suppliers. The overall growth in the platform can signify a potential for more matching bid opportunities.
More Bid Opportunities Published on Bidnet Direct
Aside from our growing number of participating agencies, we also saw a growing number of bids both aggregated and published directly on Bidnet Direct. Suppliers received more notifications of bid opportunities this year. Since the beginning of 2022, there have been more than 450,000 published on Bidnet Direct. Let’s break down what type of solicitations were being published:
- Over 22,000 bids were published directly on Bidnet Direct by participating agencies
- More than 430,000 were aggregated from all government agencies in the country by our hardworking researchers
- Out of the 450,000+ solicitations, over 57,000 were specific for MWDBE/SDVOSB/SMBEs set-aside
The growing number of published bids from local, state, and federal agencies can be a great sign of more matching opportunities for your business. Start searching for bids that matches your business.
Preparing Your Business for the Year 2023
As we are nearing the end of the year 2022, it is time to prepare your business for more opportunities in 2023. Even with the current market conditions and financial stress, government agencies are actively funding projects that can help all businesses.
There is a lot in store for 2023 that you can start preparing for, one of which is the fiscal year-end for nearly all states. The fiscal year-end is usually the busiest time in the procurement industry as local and state governments try to publish solicitations that are budgeted for FY22 before the FY23 budget kicks in. Historically, we see an uptick in published bids and increased participating agency registrations during this time so they can directly notify potential suppliers.
Another aspect to be excited about is the funding from the Infrastructure Act of 2021 starting to flow in. There are plenty of solicitations that are being funded by the Infrastructure Act that can be found in Bidnet Direct. There are also other government infrastructure projects that you can take advantage.
A good technique to prepare for upcoming opportunities is to be alerted with matching bids once they’ve been published, which is a feature that Bidnet Direct offers to our registered suppliers to provide an easier and cost-effective way of growing their government business. Aside from daily bid notifications, Bidnet Direct offers tools such as Advanced Search, notification of expiring contracts, and an Advertising Profile. These tools can help businesses like yours create an effective growth strategy.
