Salem Township Fire Department joins the MITN Purchasing Group

The Salem Township Fire Department in Washtenaw County is announcing that it has just joined the MITN Purchasing Group and will be publishing and distributing upcoming bid opportunities on the system. BidNet’s MITN Purchasing Group connects nearly 200 participating agencies from across Michigan to a large vendor pool and streamlines their bid and vendor management process. The Salem Township Fire Department joined the purchasing group in April. Salem Township Fire Department will utilize the system to streamline their purchasing process including bid management, bid distribution and vendor relations. The MITN Purchasing Group is a single, online location for managing sourcing information and activities and provides local Michigan government agencies the tools needed to minimize costs and save time throughout their purchasing process.

Before joining the system, Salem Township Fire Department was distributing bids and managing the procurement process manually. The traditional, “paper” procurement process is being replaced by local government agencies throughout Michigan. In joining the MITN Purchasing Group, the Salem Township Fire Department looks to save time, reach out to more vendors automatically and achieve cost savings over the traditional paper-based bid process.
