Professional Consultant to Provide Grant Writing and Grant Administration Services to the Town of North Smithfield, Rhode Island
The Town of North Smithfield is requesting proposals for professional consultant services to provide grant writing and grant administration services to the Town.
I. Introduction
The Town of North Smithfield (Town) desires to engage a qualified and experienced individual or firm to provide grant writing and administration services with the intent of utilizing grant funding to support, supplement, and enhance existing and contemplated projects, services, and programs for the community. The Town has recently experienced some success in receiving substantial grant funding and is hoping to continue that success. However, current staff is limited and does not have the time necessary to seek out opportunities, complete applications and administer the grants once received. As a result, the Town desires to engage a qualified individual or firm with the background, experience and knowledge of what grant resources are available, key contacts at granting agencies, how to apply for those grant resources, and to manage those resources when successful.
II. Location
The Town of North Smithfield is located in Providence County, approximately 12 miles north of Providence, Rhode Island. The Town has a population of 12,588 according to the 2020 census with an overall land area of approximately 24.75 miles. The Town was incorporated in 1871 and includes the historic villages of Forestdale, Primrose, Waterford, Branch Village, Union Village, and Slatersville. The Branch River and Blackstone Rivers run through the Town. The town consists of temperate forests, with minor elevation changes. The Town has a Town Administrator/Town Council form of government, all of whom are elected.
III. Purpose
The Town is soliciting proposals for professional consulting services from firms, individuals, or consultant teams to provide grant writing and grant administration services to the Town. The successful bidder is expected to engage Town leadership to identify priority projects and programs, develop a grant writing strategy that suits the needs/requirements of the Town, write various grants for projects, goods, and services, administer said grants, and to provide monthly, written progress updates.
