Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Staff meteorologist must have degree in meteorology from a college of recognized standings, with a minimum of five-year's experience and knowledge of forecasting weather in Rhode Island and the New England area. 2. An internet web site that is geared towards weather as related to the transportation industry and State Department's Transportation winter maintenance operations. The web site will provide web pages and/ or links to the following weather information data. 3. The web site must be usernames and password protected and accessible from any computer with Internet Access. The web site must be advertisement free. 4. A total of three (3) site licenses, if needed, will be included in the bid price as a separate item. 5. A contact point (toll free telephone number) reachable twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days per week, and all holidays included for consultation on all weather-related events. 6. E-mail capabilities in order to provide messaging related to forecasts, alerts, warnings, special weather statements, and forecast up-dates to an established email list. The e-mail list will be provided by The Rhode Island Department of Transportation. 7. All weather data shall at the minimum include: the date, time, forecasted weather, forecasted temperature (high/low), forecasted wind speed, gusts and direction, forecasted dew points, forecasted humidity levels, forecasted barometric pressure and forecasted precipitation types and amounts must be in a downloadable spread sheet format. All maps will be printable and able to be downloaded and saved to a State of Rhode Island data server for historical record keeping.
