Maintenance of Flagpoles: District flagpoles range in height from forty (40) feet to a maximum of sixty (60) feet. The height exception is the flagpole at Crestview Elementary School; this pole is approximately eighty (80) feet tall. The successful firm shall be capable of servicing the tallest flagpole to the shortest flagpole. The Flagpole Contractor shall provide a service order with an accurate description of service/repair completed at each location. The service order shall be on the company letterhead and shall indicate the name of service technician performing the work. An authorized school official shall sign the service order when the work is completed. An authorized school official shall be the Maintenance Department Representative, Principal, Assistant Principal, or the Plant Engineer/Head Custodian. The completed service order (copy) shall be submitted with the invoice to the District Maintenance Department. Important Note: The Contractor shall use a bucket truck or lift rather than a crane to service these flagpoles. For servicing or reconditioning flagpoles, the District will not pay additional charges for the rental of equipment, bucket truck(s), lift(s), or crane(s) with Crestview being the exception. Lift or equipment rental will be allowed for poles exceeding 60 feet in height with prior approval from the Coordinator of Maintenance. Flagpole Surface preparation: Contractor shall prepare flagpole surface by removing all loose paint and rust. Approved Paints: The Contractor shall use only the following paints to coat District flagpoles: Silver Bright Aluminum – Sherwin Williams No. B59S11, Devoe No. DP58138 and Duron Dura Clad ready mixed No. 93- 82411. Upon receiving a service request from the District Maintenance Department, the Flagpole Contractor shall respond to any service call within twenty-four (24) hours of notification. Maintenance of Outdoor Lighting/Wiring: The maintenance of Outdoor Lighting, Public Address (PA) systems and Scoreboards in certain locations requires the use of a bucket truck and/or crane. District lighting poles range from heights of ninety (90) feet to a maximum of one hundred and fifteen (115) feet. In addition, the associated wiring occasionally has to be replaced when defective whether overhead or underground. The successful contractor must be capable of servicing any of these poles and defective wiring conditions regardless of height and type of access. This may include trenching and installing new wires or the installation of overhead wiring to replace the defective wiring. Components of PA systems and Scoreboards, other than incoming line voltage wiring, are NOT included in this scope of work. The Contractor shall work with GCSD Maintenance personnel who will be responsible for terminating the wiring to the applicable component when replacement wiring is necessary. All wiring shall be completed per applicable codes. Any permitting required shall be the Contractor’s responsibility. The Contractor shall be responsible for having existing utilities located so as not to damage them when trenching or excavating. Any damage to utilities or District property shall be repaired by the Contractor at the Contractor’s expense and to the satisfaction of GCSD. The Lighting Contractor shall provide a service order for each service call. The service order shall be on the company letterhead and shall indicate the name of service technician(s) performing the work. The completed service order (copy) shall be submitted with the invoice to the District Maintenance Department. Scheduled Service: Upon receiving a service request, the Contractor shall respond to the District Maintenance Department within twenty four (24) hours of District notification. Emergency Service: For the purpose of this contract, when the District designates a call “Emergency Service”, the Contractor is required to respond and shall have service personnel and equipment on the District site within three (3) hours of District notification.
