Background At the very root of the park service mission are the values of stewardship and service. From the very beginning, these two values have been the guiding principles of the South Carolina State Park Service. The park service members serve as responsible stewards of the diverse natural and cultural resources entrusted to the South Carolina State Park Service, and they provide quality customer service to their customers. One of the many things South Carolina State Parks pride themselves on is the rich history and exciting educational opportunities found throughout the parks. Through guided historical tours, hands-on learning and beautiful outdoor scenery, South Carolina’s state parks offer a variety of exciting ways to learn outside the classroom.
