Providing the appropriate services: special education teachers, special education teacher assistants, speech-language therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, sign language interpreters, school psychologists, and nurses as identified by the student's IEPs including: • evaluation and assessments, direct instruction, instructional and classroom support, or consultative services; • attend staffing, IEP meetings, 504 meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings and other district related meetings as needed; • develops IEPs for initial placements, annual reviews and special reviews as needed; • ensure compliance with FERPA and maintaining the confidentiality of student records and protecting the rights of the students and families the individual serves; • completing functional behavioral reports, and behavior intervention plans as needed; • utilizing the district's IEP system and Medicaid documentation system as needed; • completing lesson plans and instructions in accordance with the IEPs and school administrators’ requirements; • provide the same individual to the student throughout the evaluation and instructional/therapy period. If the same individual is not available to ensure continuation of the educational services, another appropriately certified individual will proceed with the outlined educational/therapy plan; and • participate in professional development as identified by the Department of Exceptional Children during regularly scheduled work hours.
