Specifications include, but are not limited to: Qualified applicants to redesign and replace SCSM’s public website. The Contractor will provide creative, digital, and website development services to design, develop, and implement a secure, visually-pleasing, and easily-navigable website that will serve as both a promotional platform and a definitive source of information about the museum, its content, and its resources. The Contractor shall provide website design, development, programming, and implementation of the new website. The Contractor shall update the website from its current http:// status to a more secure https:// website, including coordinating the process of obtaining an SSL for the new website. The Contractor shall be up-to-date on current industry security standards and include the necessary components in the new website to meet SC State security requirements, including two-factor authentication for website logins. The Contractor shall utilize an open source content management system, such as WordPress, for the back-end of the website. SCSM will not use or otherwise procure proprietary content management software. The Contractor will ensure all design elements and themes include the museum’s logo and branding. The Contractor must receive final approval from the museum on all aspects of the website prior to the Go Live Date (this is the date that the website goes from testing into production and is available to external users through the internet). The Contractor must utilize up to date and consistent coding techniques so the new website displays effectively and uniformly on all browsers, including but not limited to Internet Explorer (with graceful degradation for older versions), Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Safari. Furthermore, the Contractor must provide a responsive site that scales appropriately to display effectively on desktops, notebooks, tablets, and smartphones. The website must also contain a privacy statement provided by SCSM, and be ADA compliant.
