Specifications include, but are not limited to: Early Childhood & Elementary Educational Supplies- This category represents age-appropriate supplies for core subjects in English Language arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. This also includes Social-Emotional, employment education, multilingual learning, Adaptive & Alternate education programming and Assessment. Examples include manipulatives, dramatic play, sensory exploration, teaching resources or supplies that allow students to explore an idea in an active, hands-on approach. Request from the District could include items such as puzzles, shape sorters, activity mats, linking cubes, wooden block sets, kinetic sand, or magnetic plastic letters as well as child size headphones, activity, books, or science-related packets and googles that not part of existing contracts. Early Childhood & Elementary Educational Supplies are items that districts might need to facilitate tracking of student learning overall and assessments. This would also include any training and professional learning opportunities for the use and implementation related to instructional materials and assessments.; Instructional Supplies- Middle and High School Levels- This category represents core subjects including English Language arts, Mathematics and Science and Social Studies. This also includes Social-Emotional, employment educations, multilingual learning, Adaptive & Alternate educations programming and Assessment. Examples include manipulatives, magnifiers, safety goggles, and active, hands-on approach. Request from District could include items such as assignment planners, magnets, or as well as adult size headphones or science-related kit/packets and goggles that are not part of existing related contracts. This would also include any training and professional learning opportunities for the use and implementation related to instructional materials and assessments.; Books- This category represents physical and digital textbooks, library books, and or workbooks. This also includes books, magazines, periodicals that may be purchased for but not limited to classrooms, libraries, summer reading programs, book fairs, literacy related materials, or any other book related needs. The district reserves the right to utilize any existing contracts whether it be through the district or the state if it will be a cost savings to the district.; Diagnostic, formative and summative assessments- This category represents items, materials, and resources that may be needed and used for the following categories: Used before a lesson or unit begins to gather information about a student’s strengths and weaknesses (Diagnostic). Used throughout the learning process to address misconceptions, struggles, and learning gaps (Formative). Used at the end of a unit or lesson to determine what students have learned. These assessments are often tests or exams, but can also include essays, projects, and presentations (Summative). Summative assessments help educators judge how a student is performing relative to other students at a point in time. This would also include any training and professional learning opportunities for the use and implementation related to instructional materials and assessments.
