This project is for the design and construction of a Commercial Metal Support Building for the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center attached to the current facility through a detention grade secure hallway. The proposed building will contain Secure Inmate Property Room, Laundry, Parts and Material Storage, Inmate and Chemical Supply Area, Restroom, and Secure Law Enforcement Supply Storage. The successful design build team will work with the facilities selected State Contract storage management and design company Patterson Pope for the inmate storage system and shelving and Montgomery Technology Incorporated for the jail security, access control, and camera systems to integrate with the current systems. The project will include renovation of the existing laundry area into a secure records room, current inmate property room into an inmate supply issue, and existing records room back to office space. attached to the existing Detention Center through a detention grade secure hallway. All design specification and blueprints will be required to be approved by the South Carolina Department of Corrections Inspections and Compliance Division in accordance with the Minimum Standards for Local Detention Facilities in South Carolina Section 2011. Successful Firm will work closely with the Director of Detention to design a support building that meets the needs of the Detention Center and provides the capacity for future expansion of the facility.
