The sale area consists of approximately 351 acres of predominantly loblolly pine to be thinned. Timber estimates within this 351-acre tract include Approximate Total Tons Available: 4,028 total tons of predominantly pine chip-n-saw and sawtimber. This is a third row thinning (including 10% of the stand with designated patch clearcuts) of the stand to a residual basal area of approximately 60 square feet of pines per acre. Additionally, all logging slash and debris, including tree tops, limbs, butt-cuts, and other debris and by-products must be ground/dirty-chipped/fuel-chipped and spread across the site as part of this sale. Sale Specifics The Buyer and his/her agents shall have normal access on and across the property for the purpose of carrying out the terms of this contract. The sale area’s boundary is marked with red paint facing the interior of the sale area and is displayed on the attached map. Third-Row Thinning (~313 acres) Species within the sale area consist of predominantly loblolly pine. The management goal in this stand is to reduce overall stocking, reduce competition, increase stand vigor and resilience, reduce excess woody and ladder fuels in the midstory, and preserve high-quality residual trees. The Buyer shall remove all trees from every third row of planted timber and operator-select diseased, forked, damaged, or otherwise poorly formed trees while maintaining the desired residual basal area of 60ft2/acre. The highest quality and large diameter trees from each un-thinned row should be prioritized for retention and protected from damage as target trees are removed. Patch Clearcuts (~38 acres) Species within the sale area consist of predominantly loblolly pine. The harvest goal within these patches is to remove all standing timber to create openings no larger than 2 acres each throughout the sale area to provide clear ground for pine regeneration and early-successional plant establishment. The Buyer is to remove all trees within the designated patch areas. Patch boundaries are marked with blue
