The Tennessee RiverLine, an initiative of UT Extension, seeks support in developing a comprehensive set of Planning & Design Standards. This resource will empower communities and public land managers to enhance local quality of life and maintain their unique identity through new infrastructure investments that are aligned with and demonstrative of the Tennessee RiverLine’s guiding principles. Such investments will enhance the region’s climate readiness and accelerate growth of the region’s outdoor recreation economy by increasing recreation opportunities on and along the river for residents and visitors alike. These standards are also critical to ensuring safe and inclusive user experiences, maintaining the Tennessee RiverLine’s guiding principles across geography and time, establishing consistency of infrastructure quality, and maintaining continuity of brand identity across a range of dynamic landscape conditions.
