Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide special education services for students with disabilities, ages 3-21. Students may exhibit a range of disabilities and may perform academically well below age/grade level to well above age/grade level. Services to be provided, in addition to special education services, include observations and data collection for diagnostic evaluations, IEP team meeting participation, documentation, and parent and teacher consultation. · TDOE state licensure certification for the grade level (seeking candidates for preschool, elementary, middle, and high school). · Provide appropriate services as outlined in the student's individual education programs, and/or compensatory plans. · Collect data and write up service notes (mid-nine weeks and nine-week reports) as outlined in IEP and by MNPS. In addition, Special Education teachers will maintain service records (attendance logs, data, anecdotal notes, etc.) · Collaborate with assigned para-educator(s) to implement student IEPs · Familiarize themselves with age/grade level curriculum and intervention programs and progress monitoring tools. · Collaborate with MNPS professionals at the building level to develop progress updates as evidenced by their entering Present Levels Educational Performance, Measurable Annual Goals, and service time recommendations prior to IEP Meetings. · Contribute to diagnostic evaluations, and complete documentation, participate in IEP meeting and consult and collaborate with other MNPS teachers, service providers and families. · Must collaborate regularly with designated MNPS personnel (Building Administrator) within the school environment and with the leadership team (Executive Director and Directors of Exceptional Education as needed). The contractor and MNPS Building Administrators will develop a set schedule to discuss the supervision and evaluation of contracted special education teachers. · Must familiarize themselves with MNPS special education protocols and procedures. · MNPS anticipates a need for services in but not limited to 10 MNPS schools.
