The City of Cedar Park is seeking the services of qualified engineering consultants for the development of Construction Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for the design of the East Park Street Rail Crossing Modification Project. Interested firms must have extensive experience with the design and permitting of improvements on Capital Metro facilities.
This project consists of the design, construction, and relocation Capital Metro’s existing grade crossing warning system at the East Park Street crossing (Intersection), including the preemption design, design and construction of warning devices and signal work, the relocation of crossing gate arms, and the removal of an existing double door case.Prior to resuming revenue service at the Intersection, Capital Metro will test and commission the design and construction of the crossing active warning system upgrade and signal system upgrade affecting the Positive Train Control E-ATC system integration upgrade.
This project will also include the design, construction, and installation of culverts and pedestrian sidewalks equipped with pedestrian active crossing warning gate arms and egress swing-gates within Capital Metro Right-of-Way at the Intersection.The Work will necessitate the full closure of Park Street, which will be coordinated by the City and CapMetro, and shall be constructed in accordance with all applicable FRA regulations and requirements, including those for designation as a quiet zone as specified in 49 C.F.R. Part 222, including Appendix A Supplementary Safety Measures.
Project development will include surveying, all permitting, the identification of utility conflicts (if any), coordination with utility companies and outside agencies, cost estimates, schedules, preparation of construction plans and any other items necessary to successfully develop the project.
