Summary of Specifications:
The City of Taylor invites building contractors to submit sealed bids for the provision of accessibility modifications and the rehabilitation of five single-family residences through the Amy Young Barrier Removal Program Contract No.1002020. Bids will be accepted at the City of Taylor City Hall at 400 Porter St.,Taylor, Texas 76574 until 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids must be sealed in an envelope and clearly labeled with the name of the bidder and the words, “Bid Documents" for the Amy Young Barrier Removal Program,” and submitted to the attention of Bob van Til, Planning/Development Director. Detailed Bid Instructions, General Conditions and Information, and Bid Forms are included in the Bid Package, which may be picked up at City Hall between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Questions about the Bid Package should be addressed to the City’s Grant Administrator, Robb Stevenson, at (512) 731-0445. A pre-bid walk-through of the homes to be rehabilitated will be conducted on May 5, 2015; addresses and additional details are included in the Bid Package. The purpose of the walk-through is to provide clarifying information equally to all interested contractors and to allow the opportunity to inspect the proposed work and verify measurements for bidding purposes. Attendance at a pre-bid walkthrough is mandatory. If you are interested in bidding but cannot attend the scheduled walk-through, please contact the Grant Administrator to set an alternate appointment. The City of Taylor reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding process and to award the contract(s) to the responsive and responsible bidder(s) submitting the lowest bids. Awards are anticipated to be made at the May 28, 2015 City Council Meeting; however, bids may be held for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of the bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualification of bidders prior to awarding of the contract(s).
