Summary of Specifications:
Project to include construction of pedestrian infrastructure and associated improvements including approximately 12,500 LF of sidewalks, curb ramps, retaining walls, driveways, and drainage structures for the City of Taylor Transportation Enhancement Project. BIDS will be opened on the same day and publicly read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, in the City Council Chambers at the City of Taylor, 400 Porter Street, Taylor, TX 76574. No faxed bids will be accepted.
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS may be examined without charge at the City of Taylor. Contract documents including bid proposal forms, plans sheets, and specifications for the Project may be viewed and downloaded at www.texasbidsystem.com on or after April 3, 2016. Scanned plans and specifications (PDF format) are available on CD for a non-refundable price of $25.00 from KSA Engineers, Inc., 4833 Spicewood Springs Road, Suite 204, Austin, Texas 78759, 512-342-6868. Printed copies of the Contract Documents may also be viewed at the Engineer’s office and at the City of Taylor. Addenda issued will be posted on www.texasbidsystem.com.
Please submit questions for this project no less than 72 hours prior to bid opening to Grayson Cox, P.E., KSA Engineers, Inc., at gcox@ksaeng.com.
A CERTIFIED CHECK or an acceptable bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid shall accompany each bid as a guaranty that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will promptly enter into contract with the City of Taylor, and furnish bonds on the forms provided.
A PRE-BID CONFERENCE (NON MANDATORY) will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at City Council Chambers, 400 Porter Street, Taylor, TX 76574.
PRE-QUALIFICATION by TxDOT is required for all bidders.
BIDDERS are expected to inspect the site of the work and to inform themselves of all local conditions. Time of completion shall be 210 calendar days including Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays.
THE SUCCESSFUL BIDDER OR BIDDERS will be required to furnish a Performance Bond, Payment Bond, and Guarantee Bond each in the amount of the contract.
NO BID may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least ninety (90) calendar days.
THE CITY reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids, waive any and/or all formalities.
