Scope of Work
This local vendor will submit and adhere to the follow:
we require the ability to walk through the facility on a “as needed" basis to ensure the process remains the
same. The process would involve the contracted company dropping off extra-large double wall octagon
gaylords with a bottom to be filled at the Cook-Chill facility. Once filled the contracted company would
then retrieve (load) all containers (gaylords) and transport items to their secure facility for destruction. Our
inmate apparel needs to be transported from our facility to the contracted facility without interruption. There
cannot be additional stops along the way to the contracted facility. This minimizes inventory from being
stolen and other unforeseen events.
Using Gaylords would allow us to sit the container on top of a pallet and allow the contracted
company to easily remove the containers from the Cook Chill facility. Once our items reach the facility
the contracted vendor ensures that they will quickly shred items within 24 hours and will not delay the
process. Once the inmate apparel has been shredded the contracted company will bale and haul the load to
the City of Dallas for disposal. The contracted company would be contacted on a “need” basis ensuring
that we manage our linen disposal efficiently. Cook Chill has the ability to weigh all containers prior to
pick-up to assist in obtaining purchase orders quickly and efficiently. At the conclusion of each
transaction, we would require an invoice of cost and pounds to submit to purchasing. We also require a
certificate of completion upon each transaction to ensure our inventory will be shredded according to our
agreement. If our items are not protected and shredded per the agreement, the types of insurances and
restitutions should be discussed in the event Dallas County suffers a loss or receives negative impact. We
are requesting a local vendor to ensure security of our laundry. We are requesting a vendor close to our
Cook Chill location - 2123 French Settlement Rd,Dallas, Tx 75212- in the event we need to intervene we
can do so quickly.
The insurance requirements that are sufficient for this solicitation as listed below:
Workers Compensation – Statutory
Employer’s Liability - $500k each accident, $500k each employee, $500k policy limit
Commercial General Liability - $1M each occurrence, 2M general aggregate
Products and Complete Operations Liability - $2M general aggregate
Automobile Liability - $500k combine single limit
