Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Network Design and Installation: a. Design a fiber optic network connecting twelve (12) sites in a ring topology to ensure redundancy and high availability. b. Install all necessary fiber optic cables, connectors, and related hardware. c. Ensure the network provides unthrottled high-speed connectivity. 2. Maintenance and Repairs: a. Provide preventative maintenance services, including regular inspections, cleaning, and testing of the fiber network. b. Perform repairs as needed, ensuring minimal downtime and prompt restoration of services. c. Adhere to all relevant environmental and safety regulations during maintenance and repair activities. 3. Performance Monitoring: a. Continuously monitor network performance to identify and address any issues promptly. b. Provide a standardized written report summarizing network performance and work performed at each maintenance period and include any potential recommendations for reducing overall operating costs and/or improving network performance. 4. Service Level Agreement (SLA): a. Define response times for maintenance and repairs (e.g., 2 hours for critical issues) and resolution times (e.g., 24 hours for major repairs). b. Schedule preventative maintenance services at least one (1) week in advance unless otherwise requested by the City. 5. Insurance and Compliance: a. Maintain current General Liability, Workers Compensation, and Auto Insurance meeting State and/or Federal minimum coverage amounts. b. Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, orders, rules, and regulations. 6. Bandwidth Increase Requests: a. If an increase in bandwidth is requested during the contract period, the contract does not automatically renew. 7. Post-Installation Assessment: a. Upon completion of the fiber installation, the City of Alvin IT Department will install switches and transceivers to bring the network online and test connectivity before acceptance.
