Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Develop an individual treatment plan for individuals committed to the facility for competency restoration. B. Assess whether competency is attainable in the foreseeable future. C. Report to the court and the local mental health authority/local behavioral health authority on progress towards competency at least once during the commitment period. D. The head of the facility must provide notice to the court when competency is attained, competency is not achievable in the foreseeable future, when the term of the commitment order is set to expire, if criteria for civil commitment is met, and when the final competency report is available. E. Provide Competency Restoration Education Services that includes: 1. Definitions of important persons in the courtroom and important legal terms; 2. Instructions on how to behave in the courtroom and effectively work withcounsel; 3. Information about court-ordered medications and rights as a forensic patient; and 4. An explanation of criminal charges and potential consequences.
