Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.1The successful bidder, hereafter, "Vendor" shall furnishing three different organicmaterials, described below, for installation in the biofilter cell(s) located at the VillageCreek Water Reclamation Facility in the quantities specified in the Bid Solicitation and atthe times specified by the Water Systems Mechanic Supervisor.2.1.1Layer 1 Â Six (6) inch layer of coarse pine chips placed on the floor plenum. Thepurpose is to provide support for the Organic BioFilter Media and to provideuniform air distribution through the media.2.1.1.1 Material: Disease-free white-wood pine chips2.1.1.2 Size: 100% passing a 3-inch sieve and 100% retained on 1.5 inch sieve.Oversized chips shall not exceed 5% of the load (by weight).2.1.1.3 The following will not be accepted: Chips produced from Willow or RedCedar; chips containing decayed wood or fire-charred wood; unchippedslivers, slabs or other large pieces; material containing foreign matter,such as gravel, coal, sand, lime, paper, lumber scraps or any othermaterial other than clean chips.2.1.2Layer 2 Â Four (4) foot layer of Organic BioFilter Media, described below. Thepurpose is to provide an organic substrate for the odor-reducing bacteria.2.1.2.1 The Organic BioFilter Media for Layer 2 will consist of a mixture of pinechips, pine bark and aerobically digested leaf compost at a ratio of 3:1:1by volume respectively. The three components of the Organic BioFilterMedia will be thoroughly mixed when delivered.2.1.2.2 The pine chips will be disease free pine wood with 100% passing a2-inch screen and 100% retained on a 0.5-inch screen.2.1.2.3 The pine bark will be softwood bark mulch with 100% passing a 2-inchsieve and 100% retained on a 1.5 inch screen.
