Specifications include, but are not limited to: One contractor manages the Financial Aid Payment Office and works directly with the Financial Aid Support Center (where staff establish customer eligibility for financial aid) and Board staff to give up-to-date financial information about the availability of financial aid for area customers. For the period of October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021, Workforce Solutions’ Financial Aid contractor distributed over $203 million to support over 41,800 children with early education and 3,400 individuals in high-skill, high growth occupation trainings. Workforce Solutions provides financial aid to support people’s ability to work, search for work or train for work. Our financial aid falls into the following categories: Education scholarships (tuition and fees, books and supplies) Childcare financial aid (provider payments and other childcare supportive services) Transportation (expenses related to looking for work, beginning work, or getting to school) Work related expenses (clothing, tools and equipment, licenses, documents) Work-based learning opportunities (Work experience wages, registered apprenticeships, and on- the-job training reimbursement)
