Specifications include, but are not limited to: NCTCOG is seeking partnering entities which can include community colleges, universities, community organizations, non-profits, foundations, companies, education service centers, and Independent School Districts within the counties of Collin, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, and Wise (North Central Texas Workforce Development Area - NCTWDA) to serve as vendors to develop, execute, and evaluate “iWork: Youth Career Exploration” events on behalf of Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas (WSNCT). These events will serve students in middle school, high school, and post-secondary education, as well as homeschool students, opportunity youth and foster youth up to age 24 (Youth), and the parents of these individuals within NCTWDA. Events will be made available to Youth across our region. We encourage submissions from entities in rural areas and underserved areas, and partnerships between entities to execute the event effectively. These events will involve valuable guidance and professional participation from educators, employers, and community organizations to help Youth explore and have hands-on experiences to learn about various career opportunities and their necessary skills. These events should also include over-arching career-seeking activities such as sessions exploring networking skills, resume writing, interview skills/mock interviews, dressing for success, etc. Through interaction and guided activities, participants will gain a greater understanding of pathways to careers i.e., education requirements, certifications, internships, apprenticeships, networking, and more.
