Pre-Construction Phase Services 5.2.1.The BES Consultant shall be responsible for identifying and providing to the Architect and/or Engineer all codes and standards applicable to the BES for the Project. 5.2.2.The BES Consultant shall assist the Architect and/or Engineer with the interpretation of applicable codes and standards to avoid rework by the Architect and/or Engineer in the preparation of construction documents satisfactory to the BES Consultant. 5.2.3.The BES Consultant shall review the construction documents (drawings and specifications) and provide recommendations to the Architect and/or Engineer for proposed modifications to bid and construct the Project in alignment with the design of the Architect and/or Engineer. Recommendations may be in the form of sketches, details or narratives. 5.2.4.The BES Consultant shall participate in the kickoff meeting, involving the Owner, Program Manager, Architect and/or Engineer of record, general contractor and subcontractors. 5.2.5.The BES Consultant, as requested, will prepare or assist in the preparation of language for the bid and contract documents that identifies the type of inspection that will take place during construction and identifies that the contractor must provide and pay for pre‐ installation meetings, full time construction observation of the roofing and waterproofing systems and a final observation/written report of work performed. 5.3. Construction Phase Services 5.3.1.Construction Documents, Product Data and Shop Drawing Submittal Review — BES Consultant will review the provided construction documents to become familiar with the products and systems specified, construction detailing, and Project requirements related to the building envelope systems. Following the review of the project documents, BES Consultant will review the contractor's submittals related to BES throughout the Project for conformance with the construction documents and project specifications. The quantity of reviews are as follows: a single review of up to 10 submittal packages and up to 3 shop drawing packages for the building envelope systems within the scope of service.
