Specifications include, but are not limited to: Occupational Therapy - The contracted Occupational Therapist and COTA shall evaluate referred students and provide consistent occupational therapy services for students with disabilities with motor goals on their Individual Education Programs (IEP). Speech Services - The Speech Language Pathologist will assess students, develop Individual Education Programs (IEPs), and provide therapy and consultation for speech, language, and hearing disorders. They may collaborate with Speech Language Technicians as needed. Special Education Teachers - The special education teachers will collaborate with AeA’s assessors to conduct comprehensive assessments, determining students’ eligibility for special education services. Subsequently, they will develop and implement Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for eligible students, providing them with direct instruction and support. Additionally, they will work alongside general education teachers to establish effective IEP goals and ensure students' placement in the least restrictive environment. Special education teachers will continuously monitor and track students’ progress toward their IEP goals and objectives and create and send out progress reports as the IEP determines. Furthermore, special education teachers will set up and conduct all necessary meetings and make sure that all required members of the IEP team are in attendance when required by law. It is required that special education teachers remain current with all federal and Utah state laws, regulations, and best practices in special education.
