Description

1. Purpose of RFP. The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit proposals to enter into contracts with qualified Vendors to obtain legal services with respect to various matters specific to the Utah Education and Telehealth Network/KUEN, of the University of Utah. Such matters may include: Federal Communications Commission matters, the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) Schools and Libraries (E-rate) Program, the Rural Health Care Program, channel sharing and spectrum licensing agreements, Corporation for Public Broadcasting and federal Public Broadcasting Act compliance, and legal concerns on behalf of the University of Utah and Utah Education and Telehealth Network, hereafter referred to as “University” or “UETN”. Those who submit proposals in response to this RFP are referred to herein as “Vendor.”

For all Vendor responses, provide responses related only to the individuals who will have primary responsibility for 1) performing the work on the University’s behalf; 2) overseeing the efforts of individuals who may be called in to perform work on a project-by-project basis, where appropriate; or 3) communications with the University regarding ongoing matters. The University is examining several alternatives of providing this service and may decide, after reviewing proposals submitted, not to enter into any agreement.

1. Background. The University, in cooperation with the Utah State Attorney General, seeks Legal Services to provide cost-efficient and highly competent legal advice and services as described above. Vendors responding to this RFP may possess expertise in one or more areas of specialty among the various needs described in 1.01 and the University may select multiple providers among responding Vendors.
