Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), Dam Safety Program (DSP) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors experienced in snow removal, snow plowing, winter sand/salt application on rural access roads that can be subject to heavy snow fall and deep drifting. The subject site of this RFP is Waterbury Dam, located off of Little River Road in Waterbury, Vermont. The DEC owns and operates Waterbury Dam, which provides flood protection for downstream communities. Vehicular access to the dam is important for the DEC to be able to carry out our work and responsibilities safely. As needed, the selected contractor may also be retained to perform occasional snow removal and similar services at other DEC owned dams/properties. • The contractor shall agree to furnish all labor, material, equipment and services necessary to perform the scope of work set forth herein. • The contractor is not required to haul snow offsite. Snow shall be piled up where it is the easiest to complete the work, not causing any site damage, and not blocking areas needed to perform daily duties. • Any damages to the grounds, including gates, guardrails, etc. shall be reported by the Contractor to the State within 3 days. Damages shall be reviewed with the Contractor. Damages necessitating immediate repair shall be undertaken by the Contractor as required by the State. • Snow removal services shall not include additional travel time or mileage above what is included in the Contractor’s bid price.
