Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1) The Contractor will supply qualified personnel, management, supervision of transportation workers and all personnel necessary for an efficient and effective work force to supplement existing VTrans snow and ice management operations. All motorized equipment shall have at a minimum one high intensity amber strobe light mounted such that it can be seen from all angles. The salt application equipment shall be such that the Contractor can control the amount of salt applied to the paved surface. 2) This Work is to include, but is not limited to, providing laborers and equipment operators to perform numerous transportation related duties including but not limited to cutting brush and hauling brush, roadway patching, guardrail repair and maintenance, shoveling snow, cleaning trucks and garages, snow plowing, hauling snow and other materials, applying salt and or liquid deicing agents to roadway surfaces on plow routes designated by VTrans using assigned state equipment or the Contractor equipment (with attachments and operators as required) as needed by the VTrans and performing other maintenance work including clearance of waterways and culverts and other general winter maintenance activities as assigned. 3) Contractor and Equipment Operators are required to follow the guidelines set forth in the most current version of the VTRANS Winter Maintenance Snow Removal and Ice Control Policy (https://vtrans.vermont.gov/sites/aot/files/documents/Snow and Ice Control Plan.pdf) and the performance obligations as set forth in Exhibit A. Failure to comply with these guidelines shall be documented by VTrans and may result in the termination of this Agreement. 4) The paved surfaces shall have the snow removed by plowing and an application of salt applied to melt the remaining snow and to help reduce any falling snow from adhering to the paved surface
