THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCMENET ONLY. This is sources south Notice only and it is not a solicitation announcement. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to gain knowledge of qualified, potential contractors and their socio-economic size classification in accordance with NAICS code 212319. Responses will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After a review of the responses to this Sources Sought Notice, a solicitation announcement may be posted. A response to this Sources Sought Notice is not an adequate reply to a potentially forthcoming solicitation.
This potential procurement is for purchase and delivery of roadway surface materials for the rehabilitation of RT#015 Playa Grand Rd and RT#929 Punta Conejo Parking lot. Rehabilitation will be completed by means of a Regionally led Maintenance Action Team (MAT).
Based on the logistical challenges inherently present with the transportation of goods to the island of Vieques and Vieques National Wildlife Refuge, a few factors must be considered by the contractor:
Delivery period of performance ¿ Period of performance has considered the timeline of a typical hurricane season (June 1 ¿ November 1). An extended lead time has been considered to ensure deliveries meet the established period of performance.
Contractor bid must be inclusive and consider transport to barge and then from the barge to the established stockpile location.
RT#015 Playa Grande Rd, Rehabilitation Material Delivery
RT#015 Playa Grande Rd roadway rehabilitation will be +/- 3.5 miles. Completion of this work will require 6,280 tons of A-1-A Selective Fill material as defined by the AASHTO Soil Classification System. Delivery of these materials will include transportation to Vieques by means of barge or other necessary means and then by truck to the designated stockpile location at Vieques National Wildlife Refuge.
RT#929 Punta Conejo Parking Lo, Material Delivery
RT#929 Punta Conejo Parking lot is approximately 1,150 square feet. Completion of this work will require 220 tons of A-1-A Selective Fill material as defined by the AASHTO Soil Classification System. Delivery of these materials will include transportation to Vieques by means of barge or other necessary means and then by truck to the designated stockpile location at Vieques National Wildlife Refuge.
