1. All "Hired Equipment" will be inspected by VDOT and approved for service, prior to the installation of snowplow equipment. The Contractor shall have the right to further inspect and/or make recommendations to VDOT, as to the condition of a Hired Equipment vehicle. 2. The Contractor shall be responsible for making arrangements with the Hired Equipment owner to coordinate the delivery (drop-off) and removal (pick-up) of all vehicles. The designated VDOT Contract Administrator will explain VDOT’s process and expectations of this area at a start-up meeting. VDOT will not be responsible for the arrangements made between the contractor and the hired equipment owner. VDOT has no responsibility to the contractor for any missed or delayed schedules, i.e. failure to bring vehicle in at appointed time, VDOT is not responsible. VDOT will provide the name and contact information for Hired Equipment that is authorized for services. 3. The Contractor shall be an American Welding Society, AWS, certified welder, capable of cutting, welding and drilling steel, per the enclosed specifications and drawings. All welds and metal fabrication shall be performed in a workmanship like manner. See Drawings A, B, C, D, E, F and G. 4.
