Specifications include, but are not limited to: Virginia State University is seeking a partnership with a provider who is committed to excellence in providing quality bookstore services to our students. One who commits to providing quality textbooks and pricing, educational resources, and products, and provides book prices, resources, and an outstanding level of services that coincide with the needs and concerns of our students, faculty, and staff. The Virginia State University Bookstore was established on campus to provide books, supplies, and related merchandise essential to the educational mission of the University. a. To work harmoniously with students, faculty, and staff in the development and maintenance of Bookstore services that will meet the academic, administrative, and personal needs of the campus community. b. To provide merchandise and retail services that meet the campus community's needs. c. To maintain an aesthetically appealing and efficient environment where students, faculty, staff, and guests can select from a broad range of traditional and contemporary educational resources. d. To provide students currently enrolled at Virginia State University with cost-sensitive programs that will assist them with their finances while gaining an education. e. The vendor should offer products and services with a competitive price structure that will allow them to maximize financial returns to Virginia State University. f. Vendor will accept VSU Trojan Cards, Book Vouchers, Departmental charges, Gift Cards as well as VISA, Mastercard, and American Express charge cards. All purchases will be entered into the Virginia State University automated accounting system. g. Virginia State University will provide the Vendor with textbooks, ebooks, and digital book requirements for each semester and May/Summer sessions within an agreed-upon timetable. The Vendor should describe the system for textbook adoptions and how it can be used to facilitate sharing textbook adoptions with the local competitor(s) as required by state law.
