Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to solicit sealed proposals to establish a contract or contracts through competitive negotiation for management and operation of six on-site transportation information centers and operation of the Fairfax Connector Telephone Information Center. 1.2. The primary function of both the Connector Stores and the TIC is assisting the general public with transit and transportation information, as well as providing materials for access to services provided by the Fairfax Connector Bus System, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s (“WMATA”) Metrorail and Metrobus services, Virginia Railway Express (“VRE”), and other public and private transportation service providers within Fairfax County and surrounding jurisdictions. In addition, the contractor(s) will contribute to the Fairfax County Department of Transportation’s (“FCDOT”) goal of becoming one of the nation’s top transit network systems.
