The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as “VDOT”) is soliciting bids from qualified firms to perform hot water pressure cleaning, degreasing and removal of chlorides, sulfates and surface reacted salts from VDOT owned equipment. Services shall be performed at the Northern Virginia Fairfax and Interstate Maintenance Area Headquarters listed below. Work will be performed on an as-needed basis. During the winter season, VDOT spreads salt, sand, and deicing chemicals on roadways to prevent the accumulation of ice and snow on road surfaces. The equipment used for snow removal and related winter activities must be pressure washed and cleaned throughout, and at the end of, each winter season to remove accumulated chemicals from the equipment.
