Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Firewood specifications, treatment method and Packaging Requirements: 1. The Contractor shall provide hardwoods only. 2. The Contractor shall provide wood that is kiln dried or heat treated per USDA guidelines as the preferred method(s) of treatment. Reference USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service U.S. Department of Agriculture Treatment Manual, T314-a Heat Schedules. 3. The Contractor shall ensure that bundles consist of a minimum of 7 sticks cut (fireplace size) at minimum .75 cubic feet per package. 4. The Contractor shall provide each firewood bundle prepackaged in a sturdy bag with handle preferably recyclable and/or compact after use to reduce waste in the parks. Sample picture below of acceptable packaging: 5. The Contractor shall provide at time of bid a picture of finished product as bid. B. Firewood Delivery and Offloading Requirements: 1. The Contractor shall guarantee a confirmation response to a delivery request within 24 hours of request. 2. The Contractor shall guarantee delivery within Five (5) Calendar Days of initial request. 3. The Contractor shall coordinate with Park Staff the expected delivery date and time and Park staff shall unload firewood. 4. The Contractor shall supply Firewood Bundles in a palletized format for ease of unloading. 5. The Contractor shall agree to as needed quantities and on an as needed quantity and delivery schedule. Note: Current estimated deliveries are once per week averaging 420 bundles from Memorial Day through Labor Day decreasing in October and November to 420 bundles every other week (1520 total in 22 weeks) then to approximately 360 bundles as needed through March (360 per delivery for 34 weeks), depending on sales. There may be weeks without requested deliveries or at lesser amounts based on storage limitations as all amounts are estimates. 6. The Contractor shall stock firewood bundles in quantities to meet the minimum need as estimated. 7. Deliveries to be coordinated from Monday – Friday beginning at 8:00 AM and/or coordinated with the park based on as needed basis.
