Description of Requirement Shenandoah River Dupont Settlement – Restoration of Bottomland Hardwood and Pollinator Habitat Enhancement on Former Grazing Allotments Treatment of fescue and other non-native invasive species and the planting of bottomland hardwood and pollinator shrubs for habitat enhancement in Page and Warren Counties.

These have been asked by bidders:
1st) task 1 says pre and post planting treatments…the question was how many acres are treated twice.
So, the NNIS only acres are 61.5 acres. The planting acres are 45 acres. So, pre-planting acres are 105.75 acres and post-planting treatments are 45 acres again. Total herbicide use: 150.75 acres (10 ac of which are fencerows and 140 acres of field).
2nd) All of the bottomland hardwood planting areas should be spaced as follows “trees should be spaced at a minimum of 25’ and no more than 50’ and an average of 30 trees/acre.”
In all wetland areas, “Shrubs should be spaced a minimum of 10’-20’ apart and an average of 100 per acre. May use live stakes if appropriate. “
In Seakford’s Pollinator Medium/Small trees and shrubs area, “Shrubs should be spaced a minimum of 15’-20’ apart and should average 100 trees per acre.”
3) Tree shelters and BGR, shelters must be AT LEAST 4’ tall, only treat with BGR if stock is above the shelter or if stock is without a shelter/won’t fit into a shelter
**The herbicide is provided by the contractor according to what kind of treatment they decide is necessary.
